Interior design for extension-renovation
The original rundown bungalow was architecturally transformed and extensively renovated to include a large contemporary addition that connects perfectly to the site.
Working alongside architect Fiona Macpherson Architecture, builder, and all trades, we brought this home to life through all interior design aspects for a growing family, utilising an ample suite of earthy materials and tones.

Rimu accents ground the kitchen’s elegant white cabinetry, stone benchtop, and tiled splashback, adding warmth and visual texture to the space.
Mr Ralph's pendant lights in soft green are perfectly scaled to the raked, panelled ceiling, helping to connect the new extension to the home’s original architectural era. The walls are finished in Resene Sea Fog, creating a fresh and timeless backdrop.
Resene Kargoolie Sands is the show stopper in the family’s cozy and inviting lounge. Light and warm coloured carpet adds softness, while carefully placed skylights draw natural light deep into the space.
The home’s original Rimu timber panelling and new Rimu flooring flow seamlessly from the original home into the new extension, creating a cohesive sense of connection and continuity.
Travertine tiles ground the space with warmth, while glossy off-white subway tiles add a subtle layer of texture. Resene Bud on the walls brings a gentle, calming energy, creating a serene atmosphere in the family bathroom.
The large walnut timber vanity anchors the space. Elementi brushed nickel tapware, a custom mirror by Joska Studio, and a Mr Ralph wall light add elegance. At the same time, the original lead-patterned windows gently echo the home’s character in this serene, contemporary bathroom.
